Ladies and Gentlemen, strap in tight as we're in for a thrill ride! In the bout between the Las Vegas Aces and the Connecticut Sun, we've got a clear bias, if you take my meaning. I mean, did you SEE the Aces' performance in the recent matchups? Connecticut better be hoping to have more than just the home advantage playing for them because they'd need a whole lot more than that based on their recent form.
Vegas' A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young have been chucking heat, with Wilson currently averaging over 22 points a game this season and Young not far behind at 17. That's some firepower right there, folks! The Sun's defensive game might just have to double up on them.
On the other hand, the sun doesn't seem to be shining too brightly over Connecticut, currently languishing at #13 in the standings. The formidable duo of Marina Mabrey and Tina Charles might be their shimmering silver lining. Mabrey is making baskets at a rate of 15.5 points per game in the last month while Charles isn't too far behind. But the question remains - can they penetrate the Aces' fortress?
With history ringing the bells in favor of the Aces (I bet you didn't forget that 26-point drubbing last June? Neither did Connecticut, I reckon), and the regular season record throwing its weight behind Vegas, it would take a spark of can-do-no-wrong courage for the Sun to turn the tables.
Alright, time to quit beating around the bush. Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Here's my two cents:
