Minnesota Lynx by 16In a quest that may remind you of David and his pebbles against Goliath, we have the Chicago Sky taking on the dominating force of the Minnesota Lynx. The Lynx, coronated the veritable top-dog of the WNBA, are going strong with an impressive 15-2 record and a pantheon of skilled athletes. Napheesa Collier, for example, has been deploying a spectacular performance of late, my friends, with a whopping 24.1 points per game last month, not to mention her contributions in rebounds and assists. And let's not forget Kayla McBride or Courtney Williams – each one an integral cog in the Lynx's winning machinery.
Shifting our magnifying lens towards the Chicago Sky, despite being lower down in the rankings, we come across no shortage of mettle. Angel Reese, with her 13.9 points per game, 12.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists from last month is, without an iota of doubt, the Sky's shining star followed by sidekicks Kamilla Cardoso and Ariel Atkins. Both doing a commendable job in their respective roles. However, the Sky's track record against the Lynx is marked by more losses than wins. Trifling though they may consider it, their regular season record of 5-11 does raise eyebrows.
Clearly, the Lynx have historically held the upper hoof in this matchup, coupled with superior player stats and their unequivocal dominance in the regular season as well as recent results. Now, I won't say it's impossible for the Sky to pull an upset here, but well, flipping pancakes isn't exactly a breeze on a windy day, is it?
