Off we go and let's strap ourselves in, shall we? It's Saitama Seibu Lions trotting over to the home of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. The Lions prance in with a 35-28 regular season record, what a sight to behold indeed. They enjoyed a scrumptious victory over our BayStars recently, and have kept a steady paw on the win column.
Then there's the BayStars, winner of 31 games, loser of 29 – like a Nippon version of Goldilocks, not too hot, not too cold. They've been trying to chase down their own shadow in the past few games, and admittedly that hasn't been a pretty sight.
Take a stroll down memory lane and these past encounters tell you a tale. The Lions and the BayStars exchanging wins and losses like kids with trading cards. An interesting tidbit, put a one and a five together and what do you get? That's right, the number of runs the BayStars scored in three meets against the Lions in 2024. Something to ponder for the old brainbox.
Current forms aside, we can't look past some of those recently memorable performances. The Lions have been, well, roaring (pardon me) with recent victories against the Chunichi Dragons and, of course, our very own BayStars. On the other side of this coin, the BayStars have been seeing stars with defeats from the Lions, Hawks, and Buffaloes. Oh, how the mighty have fallen, eh?
Given the impressive records and surprising twists of recent events, you'd be forgiven for flip-flopping like a politician on who's going to come out on top. As per tradition (and a dash of personal humor), the pettiest little details indeed seem to be guiding our prediction today. And like a fish swimming upstream, we're going against the tide for this one.
