Chiba Lotte Marines by 1In our upcoming baseball clash, we are looking at Chiba Lotte Marines taking a road trip to face the Hanshin Tigers. Now, it's about as clear as the dimples on a baseball that the Tigers are having a better run this season with a 35-28 record, as compared to the Marines, who sit at a bit of a shaky 24-36. That being said, if we take a cruise down memory lane, the recent history between these two might make you second guess putting your yen down with such confidence.
When these two clubs clash, it's rarely a one-sided affair. In fact, the Marines have managed to pick up three wins to the Tigers' one in their last four square-offs. And looking at their most recent games, both teams have just come off a victory, so you could say they have momentum on their side.
Despite their lackluster regular season, Chiba Lotte Marines seem to have a knack for launching torpedoes when facing the Hanshin Tigers. Therefore, in an absolute first and probably last, I might be leaning towards the underdog Marines to steal this one, albeit probably by a slim margin. So, don't go betting your house or your mother-in-law on it, but here's my prediction.
