Now, by just looking at the regular season records, the Saitama Seibu Lions are sitting prettier than the Chunichi Dragons with a 33-28 record compared to the Dragons' 29-31. The Lions truly showing that they're more than their record indicates, while the Dragons, well, they're just dragging along.
Looking back at their past encounters, it's been a back and forth affair. But, I've got to point out a certain trend here. The Lions have a knack for shutting out the Dragons. It's like a real-life animal planet where the lions snatch up those poor dragons and make them their lunch. It's happened three times out of their last five encounters, so there's some pattern there if you put on your pattern-spotting glasses.
But let's not throw the Dragons under the bus just yet, they've taken down the Lions twice. Although their most recent win was by just a single run, while the Lions’ victories have been rather more commanding.
In their recent results, both teams have had a pretty rough journey. The Dragons were able to score only once against the Lions in their last meet, and I must say, it was rather a cold outing for them. Meanwhile, the Lions have roared their way past the Hanshin Tigers in a convincing fashion, but struggled somewhat against the Dragons as well.

Considering the recent past where the Lions had a more assertive grip over the games, and their slightly better regular season record, not to mention that animal planet scenario we've been witnessing, I'm leaning towards the Lions, but not by much, afraid it's going to be close.
