Yomiuri Giants by 4So, as we turn our eyes to Japan, looking at this upcoming battle between Yomiuri Giants and Chunichi Dragons, it feels like there's an episode of Godzilla about to commence. Now, historical aficionados among us will point out - the Giants have been leaving scorch marks all over the Dragons in their recent head-to-head meetups. What with end results like 6-2, 7-1, well, it's been less of a contest and more of a samurai slicing through a sushi roll.
Take a gander at the last season records, and you'll see the Giants towering above with a 77-59 record, breathing down at the Dragons who squatted at 60-75. Just like a karaoke competition between Sinatra and a tone-deaf me, the odds were a smidge in the favor of the former.
As we mosey down memory lane, you’ll notice that recent results also seem fond of strapping superhero capes on the Giants. Erik Barnes against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows? Shutouts and victories galore, it was like watching a bear battle a group of beavers.
In contrast, the Dragons' breath seems to be more lukewarm than fiery, scoring only 1 point against the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in their most recent match. You're more likely to get singed by lighting a match, at this rate.
