In net for the Kraken, we've got Joey Daccord who has been nothing short of spectacular this season, boasting a remarkable 93.6% save percentage. Ales Stezka, with his fewer yet noticeable 86.4% save percentage, forms the second line of defense. On the Flyers side, we've got Samuel Ersson who though not as hot with an 88.9% save percentage, has been holding his own, closely followed by Ivan Fedotov who's barely an inch behind him with an 88.4% save percentage.
Seattle is walking into this matchup with top guns like Shane Wright and Kaapo Kakko bringing their skillful plays. Wright, with 14 goals and 23 assists, and Kakko with 10 goals and 26 assists, make a daring duo aiming to strike fear in the rivals. But let's not forget Philadelphia's countering fire with Matvei Michkov, holding 20 goals like trophies along with 26 assists, and Bobby Brink, who despite some choppy waters last season, has dished out 8 goals and 21 assists in this one.
Looking at past encounters, it's been a bit of a ping pong match with wins swaying both ways. The Kraken seems to have the upper hand with a couple of intense victories but let's not forget that the Flyers also showed they can indeed fly in some of the faceoffs.
Now, speaking of regular season records, it's a bit of an apples and oranges situation here. The Kraken holds a rather stormy 26-4-33 scoreline, while the Flyers have managed to, more or less, balance things out with 27-8-28.
In more recent times, both teams have seen better days. The Kraken got crushed by Nashville, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay, while Philadelphia fell to Winnipeg and Calgary but made it back on their feet against Winnipeg and Pittsburgh.
After analyzing all this, it feels like watching a swan trying to do karate– beautiful, yet slightly hard to believe.
