My Prediction
Houston Rockets by 3Jumping right into it, the Dallas Mavericks are stepping onto the court with the Houston Rockets - smells like some heated Texas competition is on the way! The Mavericks' secret weapon, Luka Doncic, has been on fire recently, sporting 28.3 points per game over the last month, chipping in with a healthy amount of rebounds and assists to boot. Luka's right-hand man, Kyrie Irving, has been contributing some solid figures as well, maintaining near-identical stats to the wonder-boy Doncic.
Let's not lose sight of the Rockets here. Alperen Sengun has been a dominant force on the hardwood, averaging 19.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in recent times. Fred VanVleet has been holding his own as well, marking up on average 15.8 points per game. Additionally, Jalen Green deserves a nod with his energetic 19.3 points per game. These folks in red have been hard at work!
Skimming over past matchups, it's been a bit of a back-and-forth. Last time Rockets visited the Mavericks, they took home a 6-point victory. However, the game prior saw the Mavericks overpowering the Rockets at their home turf by 18 points. Well, that's the NBA for ya, as consistent as a weather forecast!
As for their seasonal presence, Mavericks are currently #4 in the Western Conference, with a record of 20 wins against 13 losses. Not too shabby. The Rockets, however slightly ahead, are sitting at #3 with a record of 21 wins and 11 losses. Yet with their recent games, both teams have had their ups and downs.
Side note, anyone placing their hard-earned cash on this game should get their abacuses out and do some meticulous counting.
It's harder to pick here than in a Buffet restaurant. Nonetheless, based on the Rockets being the favored team and their strong track record so far this season, I'd gingerly lean towards them. However, they might not dominate as utterly as their fan base would wish for - don't expect a drumming folks!
