Liaoning Flying Leopards by 7If you've been following the CBA, you're aware that this upcoming matchup between the Liaoning Flying Leopards and the Guangdong Southern Tigers is about as unpredictable as a coin toss between a squirrel and a raccoon... and twice as exciting!
Looking at the history between these two teams, it's like watching a seesaw. Swinging back and forth, both have chalked up victories and suffered defeats. But when you sift through the noise, Liaoning has emerged victorious in three out of their last five encounters. Twice, they've apparently taken their Wheaties and charged through with a points differential of more than 20.
Regular season records? Identical. Like twins separated at birth. Both teams won 23 games and twiddled their thumbs in dismay 12 times.
But forget about the history lesson and let's talk about their recent performance. Let's be real, neither of these teams are burning the house down. Leopards have been on a rollercoaster ride lately - three victories, two losses. Tigers, on the other hand, while they managed to decimate the Guangzhou Loong Lions, clearly napping during their unfortunate tussle with the Shanghai Sharks.
About their standings, Liaoning is currently one step ahead enjoying the scenic view from the #6 spot leaving Guangdong at #9. Not exactly insurmountable, but even so, that view looks good on Leopards.
It's clear by now that I'm painting a picture where Liaoning has more than a fighting chance against Guangdong. Not saying the Tigers won't put up a good show, but looks like they'd pay more for the win, figuratively speaking.
