Ningbo Rockets by 6Let's shift gears towards the hard court of the Chinese Basketball Association, where we got an absolute gem of a game; the Fujian Sturgeons lined up against the Ningbo Rockets.
Looking back on the battles these two teams have fought in the past, the Sturgeons seem to get the upper hand. Last time around, they capitalized on lassoing the Rockets by a 14-point margin. The regular season records, however, paint a different picture; the Rockets surpass the Sturgeons by a slim margin. It's as if comparing which houseplant is less dead.
Players to watch out for - from the Fujian Sturgeons, it's a tricky one given their stats have decided to take a long vacation. However, Yang Zou and Yansong Sun, if they wake up from their statistical slumber, could put up a display of Infinity stones worth of points, rebounds and assists. Well, at least that's what we can hope for. Bowen Liu, who's managed to stub his toe into the doorframe of sports stats, also might want to push himself beyond his last season's average of 1.7 points per game.
On the Ningbo Rockets side, the talent pool is as deep as a puddle, with no recent data to mull over. Worthy contenders though are Jordan Howard and Yuzhuo Xu who could turn the tables in favor of Ningbo if they can harness their apparent potential to put up infinite points and rebounds. Now, wouldn't that be a sight?
In their latest stints, both teams have been through a rough patch, losing more games than they won. Worse is that, their gameplay has been as exciting as watching paint dry, unable to get past the mid-table obscurity. Ambition seems to be on a winter break for both teams, considering their standings. Neither has managed to crack through the prestige top 15, with the Sturgeons languishing at the 20th spot, while the Rockets, who've managed to achieve the 16th spot, haven't exactly set the league on fire.
Bear in mind, this analysis is as tricky as a Rubik's cube, considering the stats have decided to play hide and seek. Yet the prediction leans towards the Ningbo Rockets, given their slight edge in regular season wins and to truly appreciate the imaginative audacity of their stat board.
