My Prediction
Geelong Cats by 42
It's round 12 of the AFL season, a clear day for football, and we have a real "David versus Goliath" situation brewing here folks with the mighty Geelong Cats who are sitting pretty at #5 going head to head with the, let's just say, under-performing West Coast Eagles who are languishing at the very bottom of the pack, cuddling up at #18.

Let's peek at the rearview mirror a bit; in their last two meetings, Geelong has outscored the Eagles by a considerable margin — pardon me while my heart bleeds blue and gold for the West Coast. The Cats seem to have the Eagles' number, and frankly, it's starting to look like they've taken out a full-page ad with it.

Shall we talk records? No, we're not aspiring to become DJs, just trying to add some context. Geelong is the party at 7-4, while the Eagles are nursing a hangover at 1-10. Don't get me wrong, I admire a good underdog story as any red-blooded sports fan, but let's call it what it is... a tale of different leagues.

Take a look at recent performance, if you will. Geelong has been oscillating between solid and slightly less solid performances, kind of like your Wi-Fi signal on a Monday morning. On the other hand, the Eagles — well, let's just say they've seen better days. Their last five games make for a grim reading, like a Shakespearean tragedy written in a boxing ring.

Alright, I do feel for the Eagles, so how 'bout this: If they pull off an upset here, I'll eat my shoe. Heck, why stop there? I'll eat both shoes and the socks. My left slipper's been on its last legs for a while now, anyway...
