Pegula in straight sets.Ah, tennis. The sport where love means nothing, eh? Jokes aside, we've got an interesting matchup on our hands with Jessica Pegula going up against Moyuka Uchijima in the round of 32 at the Mutua Madrid Open.
Coming in hot with a mighty impressive tournament seed is Jessica Pegula, ranked 3. This fine lady has been showing us how it's done, making her opponents eat dust, or should I say clay, on multiple occasions. Recent outings have her trouncing Lys and Fręch without even breaking a sweat, handing out a pair of love sets like Valentine's day cards.
On the other side of the net, we have the unseeded wonder, Moyuka Uchijima. Now let me tell you, it's been an uphill battle for Uchijima. Most of her recent victories have come off exhaustive 3 setter affairs. One could say, she's got as much quitting in her as a cockroach in a nuclear fallout. But, can she manage to outlast our heavily favored Pegula?
Now I wish I had a crystal ball or could consult with some fortune teller in a dimly lit room filled with macabre artifacts. But alas, I'm just a commentator with a dry sense of humor.
Given the recent performances, the tournament seeds, and the suspenseful silence in my earpiece where my producer should be yelling at me, I must admit, Pegula's power game and her two-set mastery should give her the advantage in this tie.
