Swiatek in straight sets.Looking at this delightful matchup, we find our dear young lass Raducanu up against the hardened veteran Swiatek. I say "hardened" because every time she faced Raducanu, she's served up a hefty batch of humble pie, 2 sets to love.
Let’s not beat around the bush here, folks -- Swiatek’s record has been so hot you could use it to grill a steak! Since November, she's knocked out opponents faster than a caffeine-high kangaroo on a boxing spree. And sure, she suffered a defeat to the talented Gauff, but let’s remember that even Roger Federer drops a match or two.
Raducanu, bless her heart, has had a less stellar record recently. Having fallen to Kasatkina back in September, she has rallied and kept the love score away from her tally in recent performances. Alright, Raducanu, we see you.
We cannot ignore the tournament seeds either. Swiatek holding the number 2 position, while Raducanu hasn’t even earned herself a place at the grown up table yet.
And finally, the Melbourne Park might as well be Swiatek's second home with the fast court that benefits her powerful play. Sorry Raducanu, but those high bouncing balls are probably going to be smacked back down harder than a falling coconut in the Outback.
