My Prediction
Sabalenka in straight sets.Oh, we have a spectacle on our hands, as the seasoned Aryna Sabalenka, top seed of the tournament, goes up against the unseeded Laura Siegemund. Now, Sabalenka – big wave in a small pond and tennis royalty – has been crushing dreams all tournament, taking down Mertens, Raducanu, Bouzková, and Branstine in straight sets without a single sweat droplet sacrificed. Ah, the best kind of global warming.
On the other side of the net, we have Siegemund who has been on a bit of a Cinderella run here at Wimbledon. Not so petite on court, she's been obliterating her opponents as if she holds a grudge against tennis balls. Yet, let's not forget Azarenka showed Laura some love and tweaked the clock towards midnight with a straight-set victory. Not the most encouraging relic to hold when you're about to face the number one seed.
Siegemund smells like an underdog here, folks, despite her recent performances. Sabalenka, the favored lady, has been serving up a storm in recent matches and has the wings of the top seed to loft her above all. Siegemund, this isn't a court drama where the underdog pulls out a Houdini and conquers the queen. This is the Wimbledon Quarterfinals and Sabalenka has a lawn mower and she's not afraid to use it.
