Los Angeles Sparks by 8Who's ready for a good old fashioned clash on the court? I hope you are, because we've got the Chicago Sky taking on the Los Angeles Sparks coming right up! Now, if you have paid any attention at all during this season, or even took a brief glance at the standings, you might be worried for the Sky, currently precariously perched at the #12 spot in the WNBA. Sparks are slightly off the heat but not by much at #10 themselves.
Chicago Sky's arsenal includes a strong presence in Ariel Atkins, who's been consistently dropping 15 points per game in the last month. Another name that might ring a bell if you've been following along is Angel Reese, who's absolutely dominating the paint with 11.7 rebounds per game last month. But let's not forget about Kamilla Cardoso, averaging 13.7 points per game last month, providing solid support for the Sky.
Coming to the Sparks, they have been absolutely lit up by Kelsey Plum this season, with a scorching score of 20.5 points per game! She's been ably supported by Dearica Hamby who is nearly averaging a double-double over her past month's stat line.
Looking at the confrontations these two had, their encounters have been pretty head to head. The Sky seem to have taken more of those encounters in recent past, but the Sparks certainly haven't gone out without a fight.
Making sense of all this data without referencing my gut might seem like a herculean task, but let's do it anyway! Taking everything into consideration, especially certain figures that we're apparently not supposed to talk about, one can predict those Sparks could very well turn into a raging inferno if they play their cards right today.
