Atlanta Dream by 3Excuse me for a moment as I polish my crystal ball here... We've got an interesting match-up between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream. The Fever seem to be running a bit hot and cold this season with a 4-4 win-loss ratio but, hey, maybe they're just flirting with mediocrity. On the other hand, the Dream seem to be leaning more towards making those sweet dreams a reality with a commendable 5-3 record.
Let's talk personnel, shall we? For the Fever, we've got some major firepower in Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Clark's throwing numbers like 19 points per game out there and Boston isn't far behind with a neat 15.3. However, the Fever's recent results are little all over the place, just like my first attempt at golf. Wins against the Mystics and Sky have been marred with losses against the Liberty and Sun.
Switching sides to the Dream now. Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard are playing like they've got something to prove, dropping 20.1 and 17.6 points per game, respectively. Dream's recent games demonstrate a bit more of consistency, suffering a single loss against Sun, while claiming wins against formidable teams like Storm and Sparks.
Now, the past match-ups between these two teams hint at a bit of a back-and-forth. In the last five encounters, the Fever have claimed three wins to the Dream's two. That said, the games have been closer than my sophomore year roommate and his shower sandals, with a one-point margin in their most recent clash.
So, when we add it all up, it's tighter than a hipster's jeans at a craft beer festival. But, I'm gonna have to go with Atlanta Dream holding the home court advantage and riding the momentum of their recent successful games. The Indiana Fever won’t make it easy, mind you, they'll give 'em a run for their money.
