The Dallas Wings have been soaring low in recent games and their record of 1-6 can surely raise a few eyebrows. Yeah, not in admiration. You might think we could attribute these losses to the lack of standout performances from their top scorers, but that's not the case with Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. Bueckers has been scoring 14.7 points per game while Arike is a little flashy, scoring 17.3 points per game. DiJonai Carrington can also give you a solid 11.7 points on a good day. But when you're #13 in the WNBA, some days aren't just good.
On the clashing side, we have the Seattle Storm. Their 3-4 record isn't exactly champagne material, but with #6 position in likes of the WNBA, they seem to be weathering the storm fairly well. They've got Skylar Diggins, who's really making a name for herself, pulling in an impressive 17.9 points per game and the ever-reliable Nneka Ogwumike clocking in with 16.9 points per game. You've also got a steady support in Gabby Williams bringing in 14 points per game.
Now take a look at the history books. In the most recent five showdowns between these two teams, Seattle Storm has a clean, shiny record of triumphs, with as much as 24 points lead in one game, and a smallest margin of 2 points win in another.
So, mix it all up and what do you get? Considering the records, player stats, recent results, standings and past showdowns, it’s really not a conundrum in this case. Now, remember to have your pencils ready. Here goes...
