Phoenix Mercury by 6Ah, nothing like a good old Mercury versus Sparks match to get the blood pumping! The Sparks really could use a little ignition in their game, currently huddling in the 11th spot of the WNBA. Meanwhile Mercury, not the temperature folks, though they are hot, is comfortably sitting at 4th in the season.
Taking a glance at the Mercury, we see Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas, cranking out consistently good numbers this season. The Sparks better hope their defense is up to the task of keeping these ladies in check. But the Sparks have a few bright lights of their own, don't they? Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby have been lighting up the court nicely. Sure, it's not been enough to give them a perfect season but when these ladies are on fire, watch out!
Now, talking about fire, these past face-offs tell a tale of Phoenix rising over the Sparks. Most recent encounter being a narrow victory for the Mercury. Sparks, let's hope they've learnt a thing or two!
Now onto the recent results for both teams. Mercury, they've had their ups and downs recently, but coming off a dramatic win against the Sparks, they've got momentum. Sparks though, I'd say they're more of a flicker recently. They've been struggling, not gonna lie. They'll be looking to put all that behind them and turn it around in this one.
So after much pondering and coffee sipping, your not-so-humble color commentator is liking the looks of the Mercury for this one, and if I had to put a number on it...
