Little tension for this WNBA matchup! We’ve got the Chicago Sky flying into the Dallas Wings’ territory - both teams circling each other like seagulls over a hotdogg stand. Not the prettiest of pictures, with Chicago Sky hanging onto the number 11 spot in the WNBA, and the Dallas Wings barely flapping in last place at number 12.
Chicago Sky sports some stellar players like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso trading blows on the court with averages of 9.2 and 12.8 points per game, respectively. Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins are doing their bit as well with around 11 points per game each, but despite their efforts, the Sky seems to be falling with a rough start of 1-4 this season.
On the other hand, the Wings have their own stars to boast of. Paige Bueckers notching up an average of 14.7 points and Arike Ogunbowale, their dynamo guard, firing off 17.7 points per game. But much like the chicken wings at a roadside diner, Dallas can be a bit hit and miss with a win-loss record of 1-5.
Going by the recent get-togethers, it seems like Chicago's had a little more wind under their wings when squaring off against Dallas. Winning 4 out of the last 5 games, with the most recent win decided by the skin of their beaks - 97 to 92.
Jokes aside, matching up recent form, player performance, historical duels and forgetting that the cheerleaders definitely won’t be wearing Parkas, my money is on:
