My Prediction
Blues by 2Ah, Super Rugby, where men become boys and the boys, well, they just get a lot of bruising. Coming up, we've got the Blues taking on the Hurricanes. Now these two teams have a history that could serve as a plot for a daytime soap - full of twists, turns, and a reasonable amount of violence.
The last time they clashed, the Blues managed to pull of a daring 33 to 29 win. Before you get too carried away with that victory, remember that their overall record isn't exactly commendable - a rather sad 1-5. Whole lot of losing there. Contrast that with the Hurricanes' slightly more respectable but still mundane 3-3 record.
Now, the Hurricanes are fresh off a pounding of the NSW Waratahs and are sitting pretty in 6th position, clearly a team with something going for it, or at least, they've fooled some people into believing that. On the other hand, the Blues, well, they're sitting at 10th position which clearly speaks volumes about their season so far - volumes you probably don't want to read.
This match-up, my dear rugby aficionados, isn't so much a question of who has the better team, but rather who has the less worse team. Given their recent performances and season stats, to say it's a close one would be like referring to a wooden spoon as silverware. My money, if I were a betting man, would be on the Blues. They're due for a win. But, with a marginal edge.
