If you squint your eyes a little, you can see a series as frothy as a fresh pint about to unfold here. The Montreal Victoire and Ottawa Charge seem to be in an arm wrestling match that's perpetually mid-swing. Games recently have been as tight as my dry cleaner's grip on my missing socks. With Ottawa leading the playoff series 1-0, it seems like they luckily found a four-leaf clover and ran with it.
Look back at the last five games, and it's clear that Ottawa Charge somehow dominate this relationship like a pit-bull at a poodle party. Winning 3 of those matches, including a piping hot one just recently in the playoffs, seems like they're stepping to the beat.
But don't douse the fire on the Montreal Victoire just yet. Ottawa might be charging ahead in recent face-offs, but Montreal stands tall like a prom queen at the #1 spot in the Position In Standings. Their regular season records, while not exactly Washington crossing the Delaware, still shows them outflanking Ottawa's win-loss record by four games. They did have a slip-up recently against Ottawa, yes, but then again, even peacocks fumble their feathers sometimes.
Based on the recent performance of Ottawa, my head says they have a shot, but I'd wager a bucket of fried chicken that Montreal has a sneaky snooker shot up their sleeve. Sometimes, one just has to respect the iron will of a season leader. And since I've never been much for head over heart...
