Welcome to the ice! Now, if we're cracking this case wide open, we're obviously looking at the Minnesota Frost and the Toronto Sceptres squaring off for a juicy rematch. The Sceptres currently hold the playoff reins leading the Frost 1-0.
The frosty Minnesota team has a bit of a chill on their record at 10-11 for the season, chilling at 4th place in the PWHL. Not the worst, but sure as hell ain't the best. On the flip side of the puck, the Sceptres are sharpening their edges, sitting pretty at 2nd place in the standings, boasting a rather impressive 12-9 regular season record.
Past meetings between these hockey gladiators are akin to a seesaw at a playground. Back and forth they go, but the Sceptres managed to have the last laugh by cornering the Frost 3-2 most recently. Furthermore, the Sceptres seem to have some extra mojo when it comes to turning the home crowd energy into solid performances.
Now, don't quote me on this, but it seems like the Frost has been giving the scorekeepers some extra overtime work recently, putting up 8 against Boston and shutting out Ottawa. Meanwhile, the Sceptres have been playing some tight games leaning more on their defence and goalie to squeeze out victories.
So here's the deal. On one hand, we have the Toronto Sceptres who are as tough to crack as a frozen maple syrup bottle. On the other hand, we have the Minnesota Frost that seems to drop the temperature and tighten the defense when necessary. It may be raining cats and dogs outside, but in here it's hailing pucks and hockey sticks.
So, if you're betting your last doughnut on this game, I'd say slide it on over in the direction of Toronto. But, and there's always a but, the Frost will give them a run for their money.
Albert’s Prediction: Toronto Sceptres by 1
