Canterbury Bulldogs by 7Looking at the Canterbury Bulldogs squaring off against the Parramatta Eels, it's like watching a locomotive barreling down on a penny stuck on the track. The Bulldogs, in their prime at spot #1 in the NRL Premiership, presumably fed on a diet of victories for breakfast, are just itching to chomp down another win, and unfortunately, the Eels at #16 look like they've been on a diet of, well, let's not get into specifics.
Now don’t bother putting on your thinking caps folks; the numbers do all the talking. Just a quick recap - Bulldogs 9 wins, 2 losses, Eels on the less impressive side of a 4-8 record.
I mean, the past head-to-head match-ups do give some hope for our Eel friends. After all, they've tattooed their name on the winning board thrice against the Bulldogs in the past five encounters. But who can ignore that last match where the Bulldogs chowed down 16-8?
Recent match performance, too, gives Eels a rather unflattering look, like they voyaged into a tumultuous sea on their match against the Penrith Panthers. Conversely, with the Bulldogs running rampant over teams like the Sydney Roosters and Canberra Raiders, it's hard to see the scales tipping in favor of anything but a tasty Bulldog win.
