Brisbane Broncos by 3Oh, what a treat we're in for, isn't it? A classic scrap between the Brisbane Broncos and the Gold Coast Titans. Now, it's not all peaches and cream in both camps, I tell ya. Bronco boys have a slightly better season record with their 5-7 win-loss ratio, compared to the Titans, sporting a 3-8. Nothing impressive on both fronts, I must say. It's like watching two bald men fight over a comb.
In recent skirmishes between these Queensland rivals, the Titans seem to love giving the Broncos a proper nudge. You've got to go back a ways to find the last time the Broncos got one over the Titans. Yup, it's as if the Titans were designed to be the Broncos' kryptonite.
As for recent form, well it's a mixed bag of fish and chips. The Titans have had a rough few weeks, including a good shellacking from the Canberra Raiders and North Queensland Cowboys. They'll be twitching like a rabbit's nose at the sound of a gunshot. The Broncos aren't faring much better, with their encounter with the Manly Sea Eagles resembling more of a pillow fight than a rugby match.
The Broncos, though, are scraping their way up through the NRL Premiership Standings, hanging around the 11th spot like an unwelcome guest who won’t take a hint. The Titans, lolling down at 17th, are more like the wallflower of that same party.
Considering the spread, you might be tempted to look favorably towards the Broncos. But remember, the bounce of the rugby ball can make a fool out of anyone. So, on the recent trend, I'm going to go with a cautious Broncos victory here, just screeching through.
