Ah, isn't this the perfect little storm? The Melbourne Storm, with a 6-4 record and a comfy number 4 spot in the standings, is taking on the Gold Coast Titans, down in the dumps at position 16 and standing on shaky ground with a 3-7 record. Now, if I hadn't lost my spectacles, I think I see some rather telling spreads and payouts that make Melbourne look like the belle of the ball.
However, my dear listeners let's not throw in the towel on our Titans just yet, they did manage to best the knights, didn't they? Ah yes, they may have handed over a shiny win to the Raiders and the Bulldogs and the Cowboys, but we all have our off days, right?
Then, we have Melbourne who, aside from their majestic show against the Wests Tigers, have been a bit touch and go. One can only wonder which version of the Storm we'll see coming out of the changing rooms.
But, alas, here's the twist: the Titans and the Storm tend to have teeth-grindingly close matchups. Wasn't it just last year that the Titans narrowly missed out on a win, ending 20-22? That had to sting. I do believe the Titans will come out blasting thunder, looking for revenge.
But, the Melbourne Storm have the fourth spot for a reason. And considering their current form, my money...I mean, "theoretical" money of course, would be on the Melbourne Storm. Call me a traditionalist, but I love consistency and that's something the Storm appears to have in their DOWNpour, pun thoroughly enjoyed.
So, without further ado, here is *drumroll please* ...
