Orix Buffaloes by 2After crushing the numbers, and probably a packet of potato chips, folks, we've got an interesting match-up between the Orix Buffaloes and the Chiba Lotte Marines. Grab your popcorn or whatever passes for game snacks in your household.
The Orix Buffaloes, with their impressive regular season record, have been outshining the Chiba Lotte Marines like a disco ball in a dark room. Their recent games suggest their form fluctuates more than my interest in interpretative dance.
On the other hand, the Chiba Lotte Marines are that kid in class who doesn't always get full grades but occasionally surprises the teacher. Their regular season record is less than stellar, like a cloudy night in an observatory. Recently, they’ve been more underwhelming than a lukewarm cup of coffee.
Look at past meetups between these two teams, and the Buffaloes have been serving up some grade-A barbecue. Those were some spicy games. In the most recent, they came away with three victories to the Marines' two, showing they know how to start a fire.
All things considered, and boy, there are a lot of things - I'm looking at you, fancy stats and data - the Buffaloes seem to be the team to back, as much as I trust a weather forecast.
Entirely hypothetically, of course, if I were a betting man, and occasionally at the horse races, I can be, I'd place my wad of cash on the Buffaloes. Now let's see if they deliver or crash and burn.
