Chiba Lotte Marines by 2Look at this, we've got a classic matchup between the Chiba Lotte Marines and the Orix Buffaloes. Now, I'm not psychic but let's slice this bread and see how the crumbs fall.
Historically, the Buffaloes have had the upper hand with three victories in their last five encounters. They've generally managed to keep the Marines at bay; although there was this one anomalies in September '24 when the Marines seemed to be on a caffeine rush and managed to score 12 runs.
Coming to the present season, the Buffaloes boasted a better track record thus far with 14 victories and just 10 losses, while the Marines are treading water a bit with 11 wins and 12 losses. However, the Marines fresh out of a win against the Buffaloes, might just have a bit of wind behind their sails.
Recent form also tugs in favor of the Marines who seem to be gathering momentum with their victories over the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Saitama Seibu Lions. On the other hand, the Buffaloes suffered a bit of a stutter against the Lions, which might have put a speed bump in their stride.
So lay your bets ladies and gentlemen because this is anyone's game, but if I had to take a wild guess—and believe me that's all it is—I'd bet on the Chiba Lotte Marines tipping the scales.
