My Prediction
Orix Buffaloes by 2Well butter my biscuit, this is going to be an interesting one to swallow folks. Now I've been watching these two teams for longer than a man should admit, and well, past performances are giving me some serious déjà vu in each Chiba and Orix matchup.
Now, those with memories like a goldfish might need reminding of the last five games these two teams had together. Orix Buffaloes have come out on top four times, which is no small feat, let me tell you. Chiba Marines though, they didn't go down without a fight, putting 12 points past the Buffaloes in one of the games.
Regular season records show these teams are pretty evenly matched. Though, the Orix Buffaloes are just nosing ahead with a 13-10 record against Chiba's 11-11. I'd say they're as unmatched as a plaid shirt with striped pants.
Moving on to recent results. It seems the Mariners have developed a minor superiority complex, winning four out of their last five games. On the other side of the barn, the Buffaloes are still stumbling in the dark with only one win out of the last five.
Now, twisting this whole thing into some kind of prediction without taking all day about it...it's going to be the Orix Buffaloes who come out on top, but it'll be a close shave, just squeaking by with 2 points, if that.
