Ahhh, here we have a clash of the Japanese baseball titans - the Saitama Seibu Lions charging into the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks' territory. Somebody better check if earthquake insurance covers baseball games, because this is bound to be seismic!
Now, the Lions have had the upper paw in recent skirmishes with the Hawks, which may make them look like the likely winner. But then again, I also looked like a likely winner on my wedding day. We all know how that gamble turned out.
Speaking of records, the Lions have had a decent run in the season with a couple wins, but let's not forget they've also choked up losses, juggling consistency like a cat with mittens. As for the Hawks, they've got a pair of cement shoes weighing them down with only a single victory and a bucket full of defeats. But, of course, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Unless you're talking about my ex's cooking. Then it's a guarantee of heartburn.
When recent results are under the microscope, the SoftBank Hawks are far from fluttering high. The last few games have seen them smack the canvas more than a schizophrenic artist. Meanwhile, the Lions are neither roaring loud nor merely purring, they're somewhere in-between...like a yowling alley cat at 3 AM.
Judging by all scientific and unscientific factors, I'd say it's not as clear-cut as a laser hair removal appointment. But if you ask me, and apparently, that's what I'm here for, I'd say the Saitama Seibu Lions might have a slightly better chance of leaving the diamond with their heads held high. They won't exactly go rampaging, but I predict a narrow victory.
