Ladies and gentlemen, if you're a fan of grit over glitz, then you might fancy this one. In the blue corner, we've got the Toronto Maple Leafs with the iron wall himself, Anthony Stolarz, standing tall between the pipes. This season he's recorded a save percentage that's higher than a cat's curiosity, sitting pretty at 94.9%. Now in the playoffs, Stolarz is still a savior with 75 saves and an exceptional 92.6% save percentage.
For Ottawa Senators, we have Linus Ullmark, who's had an admirable season, but his playoff stats tell a different story at 81.5%. What's he playing? Pin the puck on the goalie? I guess we'll see.
As for the foot soldiers, the Leafs have Mitch Marner leading the offensive charge alongside players like Auston Matthews, both of whom have been dishing out assists like they're at a soup kitchen. On the other side, Ottawa's top performers - Claude Giroux and Brady Tkachuk - seem to be having a bit of a scoring slump this playoff season. But hey, anything can happen in hockey, right?
Taking a peek at the past matchups and the Leafs have been going around like a dog's tail when it spots a treat, winning three out of their last five games against the Senators. Now, add in their current 3-0 series lead, I'd say the Leafs have the Senators boxed in like a fish in a barrel.
But, hold onto your lucky hats, because this is hockey, and shenanigan loves company. So, while logic, stats, and my parakeet named Morty all point towards a Leafs victory, the thing is, the Senators are at home and they're the favorite for a reason – something my ex-wife used to remind me of, constantly.
So, here it is; the moment you've all been waiting for. As much as it pains me, the prediction is:
Albert’s Prediction: Ottawa Senators by 2
