Let's start with the goalkeepers - Dallas Stars have Jake Oettinger in the mix with a decent save percentage of 90.9%, and not to be forgotten is Casey DeSmith, who even though has no playoff saves, boasts an impressive 94.6% save percentage this season. On the other side, the Colorado Avalanche have Mackenzie Blackwood as their frontman who has stepped up in the playoffs, boasting a superior save percentage of 92.3%.
In the front line for the Stars, we have a few big guns, namely Thomas Harley, Tyler Seguin, and Mason Marchment. Harley and Seguin have been contributing in the playoffs and Marchment, well, he had a decent run last season. From the Avalanche's side, Nathan MacKinnon is the showstopper with 3 goals in the playoffs and a remarkable last season. Logan O'Connor and Artturi Lehkonen have also been making significant contributions.
As for the past match-ups and recent results, it's been a roller-coaster. Both teams have had their share of wins and losses against each other. The current playoff series is neck-to-neck at 1-1. The regular season records present a nearly identical scenario with not much to choose from.
So, considering all these factors, I hate to put a dampener on the Stars' fans out there. But, it's important to consider the force the Avalanche's have been packing on home ice, along with their enhanced goalie performance.
