Now there's a delightful clash on the ice folks! One that will surely leave you comatose from the shear excitement. We've got the Winnipeg Jets streaking towards the St. Louis Blues with the force of, well, a jet. After seizing a 2-0 playoff series lead, our Jet boys are looking pretty fly, if you ask me.
In the net for the Jets is their human highlight reel, Connor Hellebuyck. The man's been quite the barrier this playoff, with a save percentage of 89.7. But when we talk about his average save percentage for the season, a tidbit more impressive stat, we're looking at a whopping 94.5%. Yes, folks, that's one wall harder to breach than Fort Knox.
Hellebuyck's flamboyant performance is complemented nicely by their striking duo, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor. Both have been flying high this playoff, beautifully firing pucks into the net and making important plays.
But enough jest about Jets, let's glide over to the Blues' side of things. Keeping the Blues' net safe, or at least trying to, is Jordan Binnington. He's not exactly Hellebuyck, but he's not half bad either. Playoffs sees him maintaining 87.2% save performance. The trusty Robert Thomas and the bullish Jordan Kyrou are the Blues' go-to guys. But they aren't quite leaving the marks their playoff stats suggest.
All things considered, the Jets seemed to have transformed back into their winning avatar of 2025. They have managed to consistently outskate the Blues, winning four of their last five matchups. The Blues, with their receding rhythm, appear to be more blue than ever.
Gauging the gameplay, player performances and their previous face-offs, folks, if baking be an art, I'm about to reveal the cake!
