Winnipeg Jets by 2Oh, hockey aficionados, have we got a showdown for you! It's the crème de la crème, Winnipeg Jets facing off against the Montréal Canadiens. Now, buckle up your skates folks; we're in for one frigid joy ride.
Putting the goalkeepers under our microscope, we've got the mighty wall, Connor Hellebuyck, on the Jets' side with a whopping 994 saves this season, sporting an impressive save percentage of 95.7%. His backup, Eric Comrie, not too shabby either with 314 saves. Over in the Canadiens' corner, we have the young netminder, Sam Montembeault, with 910 saves, but alas, a somewhat wobbly 89.9% save percentage which is a tad worrying. And let's not forget young Dobes, hanging in there with a strong recent month of 165 saves.
Now, the game-changers, the playmakers – we've got dynamic duos and then some on both sides. On the Jets' crew, mark my words, Nikolaj Ehlers is a sight for sore eyes. With 15 goals and 29 assists this season, the guy's got some serious puck game. Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi also show notable figures with combined 49 goals. Mark Scheifele, though, he's one to look out for with equally strong goals and assists this season. For the Canadiens, Nick Suzuki is the marquee player, adding up the scores with 14 goals and 34 assists this season. Cole Caufield with his 24 goals ain't a player to ignore either.
Now, onto the all-important head-to-head record. Well, how can we forget their last skirmish where the Winnipeg Jets bested the Canadiens on their own ice! The games between these two have been a mixed bag of results, but recent history seems to favor the Jets.
Regular season records tell a similar story, with the Jets at a comfortable 34-3-14, while the Canadiens are skating a bit behind with a 24-5-20.
Alright, now let's look at some recent form shall we? The Jets have been on a roll with recent wins over Calgary and Utah, only faltering against the latter and Colorado. Montréal, on the other hand, have had a bit of a rough ride, but they managed to pull off wins over Tampa Bay and New York.
