Arizona Cardinals by 5Pardon my candor, dear listening folks, but we're about to dive into an upcoming NFL match up between the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers that's got me as excited as a three-legged cat in a sandbox.
In the red corner, we have the Cards who are perched at a respectable #3 spot in NFC west with a season record of 7-7. They’ve had an up-and-down recent run, yet they managed to carve out some impressive "W's", notably cooking the Patriots’ goose with a 30-17 score. Their quarterback, Kyler Murray, may be sporting an efficiency rating of 80.6 with 5 havoc-wreaking interceptions, but the guy can still wheel-and-deal with over a thousand passing yards. Add to that, personalities like James Conner and Trey McBride have been churning out impressive yardage. On the defensive side, you can't ignore Kyzir White and Mack Wilson, these guys are tackling machines.
Then, we've got the Panthers, languishing at the #4 place in NFC South, thanks to their debilitating 3-11 season record. Their recent run has been as rough as a cob, the Cowboys and Eagles breaking their stride. QB Bryce Young is putting up a fight with a near 80 efficiency, tossing four TDs despite some turnovers. Adam Thielen is proving a reliable receiver with over three hundred yards, while Chuba Hubbard has been playing both rusher and receiver roles. Defensively, Josey Jewell and Xavier Woods are doing the heavy lifting.
By no means am I telling your fortune, but based on the Cardinals' favored odds, regular season record, and their solid assortment of heavy-hitters both offensively and defensively, I'm smelling a Cardinals victory from a mile away. The Panthers, bless their hearts, are going to have to summon the spirit of a junkyard dog to claw their way back from their hole.
