Ah, nothing like a good old divisional matchup to throw the cat among the pigeons, wouldn't you agree? So, this time we have the New England Patriots gallivanting off to play the Buffalo Bills. Now, based on past encounters, these two seem to have a see-saw sort of deal going on, though the Patriots have been on the lower end more recently.
And if you take a quick glance at the regular season records, well, let's just say the Patriots have been having the kind of season you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. It's three cheers for the underdog and all that, but with a 3-11 record, the Pats might just be a bit too far under.
On the quarterback front, the Patriots have Drake Maye, who let's be frank - with his pesky habit of throwing as many INTs as TDs in the last month - isn't doing them any favors. Buffalo's Josh Allen, meanwhile, has apparently found a way to keep the zebras from snooping in his passing business. 7 TDs and zero INTs? Not bad at all, dear sir.
The Pats' offense hasn't exactly been firing on all cylinders either. Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson have been doing their best to keep things moving, but it's not quite been enough. The Bills, in comparison, have James Cook in their corner. He's been running like a man with a purpose (and a bit of an angle) and is sitting pretty with 3 total TDs in the past month. Now, that's what I call a Cook-off!
Defensively, the two teams seem to be on a first-name basis with tackling, but the lack of turnovers might be a problem. I mean, the Pats' Anfernee Jennings did manage to force a fumble, but without a bit more variety in the diet, these guys might start feeling a bit peckish.
At the end of the day though, peeps, it's the game of football we're talking about. Things happen, balls bounce strange ways, and sometimes, just sometimes, the underdog might just bite back. But between us, in this one, I've got to give it to the Buffalos.
