I see we're heading into Minnesota for this exciting confrontation, folks. The home squad, the Vikings, are as unbeaten as a freshly poured concrete sidewalk. Meanwhile, visiting from the Big Apple, the Jets' record is what's usually referred to as "mixed bag", they've both delighted and disappointed New York with a record of 2-2.
Looking at recent steam let-offs on the gridiron, the Vikings have been more like warlords, dominating their opponents, including a particularly memorable roasting of the Green Bay Packers. The Jets on the other hand, have been somewhat inconsistent, losing a close one to Denver and washing out at San Francisco, but don't depreciate a solid win against New England.
In terms of quarterback showdowns, the Jets have the veteran presence of Aaron Rodgers, whose uncompromising skills still ring bells. However, with Sam Darnold for the Vikings posting better numbers last month, Rodgers might find himself with a lot on his plate.
The Jets' offensive machine has been ticking over on the gears of Breece Hall and Allen Lazard while Garrett Wilson has also caught the eye. For the Vikings, Aaron Jones and Justin Jefferson have been turning the cogs, producing a niagara of points.
Defense is just as crucial as offense, so let's not forget about the labors of Quincy Williams and Tony Adams for the Jets. As good as they've been, though, I feel this night could belong to the Vikings' defensive marauders like Blake Cashman and Byron Murphy Jr., who have had a splendid past month.
Nevermind close scoring games, those are for the weak-hearted. As they say "The bigger the margin, the bigger the win...or something like that". I say it's time for the Vikings to pull out their axes and cut through the Jets.
