Creighton Bluejays by 10Ah, the Seton Hall Pirates are about to set sail again, this time against the mighty Creighton Bluejays. We've seen this dance before, folks; the Bluejays have had the upper hand in previous duels. A flip through the history books shows that Creighton have triumphed convincingly in the last five matchups.
Playmaker Lauren Jensen, who has been netting an impressive 18.9 points per game in the last month, is expected to be a thorn in the side of the Pirates again. She is admirably supported by Morgan Maly, who has flaunted an average of 18.6 points and 7.6 rebounds this past month. This dynamic duo has been the driving force behind Creighton’s formidable 25-5 record this season.
As for the Pirates, Savannah Catalon and Faith Masonius have been the standouts. Both have been consistently contributing to the scoreboard. Catalon, with a 15.4 points per game average over the last month, and Masonius, with a solid 12.5 points, have definitely held up their ends. But, considering Creighton's home court advantage and better AP ranking, these players will have their work cut out for them.
Based on the Bluejays' recent victories over the Georgetown Hoyas and Villanova Wildcats, and the Pirates' mixed performance, it seems likely that the Bluejays will continue their powerful flight and send the Pirates ship home. Seton Hall’s irregular performance doesn’t quite inspire the confidence that they can overthrow the mighty Bluejays.
So, just like adding another layer of seasoning to an already flavorful dish, I shall add a sprinkle of certainly obnoxious yet brutally honest prediction. I would expect the Creighton Bluejays to nest another win, and by quite the margin too.
