UCLA Bruins by 3Hold onto your hats, sports fans, as this Elite 8 showdown is about to take the cake! Pass the popcorn, because we won't be able to peel our eyes from this one with LSU Tigers, the #3 seed, looking to challenge UCLA Bruins, #1 seed, in their own backyard.
Leading the power train for the Tigers, we find the dynamic duo of standouts Aneesah Morrow and Mikaylah Williams, both on a blistering run. Morrow, an absolute powerhouse, averaging a sterling 23.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game - don't let the stats fool you, she keeps the scoreboard ticking faster than metronome! Then there's Williams, with an impressive average score of 18.7 points per game. Both have been great this season, however, it's their recent form making them the talk of the town.
Conversely, on the UCLA side, it's a bit of Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice show. They've been topping points like pancakes at a breakfast buffet. Betts, with 20.4 points per game, is the Bruins' scoring juggernaut, then Rice isn't exactly shy to the basket either, considering she's chipping in 13.9 points per game as well. A feast for the senses, if you ask me!
Although UCLA does enjoy the superior regular season record with 30-2, we can't ignore that the Tigers hold the recent head-to-head victory. A year ago, the Tigers stole victory from the clutches of the Bruins, and rumor is they've got the taste for it.
Looking at recent results, they both seem in form. LSU Tigers have been piling up points like a kid in a candy store, going 3-1 in recent games. UCLA Bruins, on the other hand, have been unbeaten in their recent stretch call it Wizardry or call it strategy!
Pulling it all together, we have the sort of drama that only the Elite 8 can offer! Based on the 4.5 spread, and keeping in mind recent forms, head-to-head results and standout players, here's my prediction.
