We're talking about the poised perfection of the Auburn Tigers, swingin' out of the gates with a top seed in this tournament. Not forgetting the Wolverines of Michigan whose tournament fangs are not to be underestimated at a fifth seed ranking.
Now, we can't ignore the meaty stats those Michigan boys have been dishing out. We've got Vladislav Goldin averaging 20.1 points per game last month, not too far off from his last season average of 19 points per game as well. Then there’s Daniel Wolf, pulling in pretty good numbers with a hefty 9.7 rebounds per game. We've got no player data for Auburn, so we've got to rely on good old-fashioned team play on that end.
As our scorebooks tell us, Auburn have been playing tight and right, finishing 28-5 for the regular season. Meanwhile, Michigan come in with a 25-9 record, not too shabby if you ask me, but no stubble-free shave like Auburn's numbers.
The Wolverines recent results have been a show of tenacity, coming from a close shave with the Maryland Terrapins, to a comprehensive victory over the Purdue Boilermakers. The Tigers on the other hand had an unsettlingly close game with the Alabama Crimson Tide before taking a breeze past the Creighton Bluejays.
