Real Salt Lake by 1Now, listen here, we have an interesting match on our hands between the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake. Pull up a chair and let's dig into this one.
First off, the men stopping the shots. Raphael Cabral has been putting up a spirited fight in front of the posts for Real Salt Lake, coming in with a solid 6.97 rating and 17 saves. LA, on the other hand, seems to be having an internal crisis, running through two goalkeepers, Novak Mićović and John McCarthy. Though both have shown decent performances, they lack the consistency that Cabral has shown.
On to the hotshots. Real Salt Lake has Diego Luna leading the pack. With an impressive 7.50 player rating, this lad knows how to nail them into the back of the net. And we can't forget about Zavier Gozo, who despite his 6.93 rating has shown some spark on the field. LA Galaxy, on the other hand, shine bright with the likes of Marco Reus, with a stellar rating of 7.60, and Diego Fagúndez, who boasts a 7.20 rating.
Taking a stroll down memory lane, Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy have presented us with quite the seesaw affair. Their last five meetings have been a rollercoaster, each one throwing the other off balance. It's quite the toss-up, wouldn't you say?
In terms of regular season records, both teams have been having a rather dismal season so far. Real Salt Lake comes in with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 9 losses. Meanwhile, LA Galaxy's record is definitely in the pits, with no wins, 4 draws, and a whopping 12 losses.
Looking at recent results for both sides, you don't need a crystal ball to see that scoring goals and keeping 'em out has been an issue. Both teams are relatively low on morale, having struggled to get good results in recent weeks.
So, where does all this leave us? Well, we're looking at two teams who could certainly use a good break. But, given the physical and psychological stats on paper, Real Salt Lake seem to have the edge. It's a bit of a toss-up, like picking the lesser of two evils. But, I reckon, LA Galaxy might want to start praying for a miracle.
