Alright, my dear soccer enthusiasts, we've got a cracker of a game on our hands. We've got the Houston Dynamo up against the Seattle Sounders FC and boy, oh boy, have we got some talent on the field today.
Kick-starting for the Sounders in goal, we've got Stefan Frei, with a decent rating of 7.38 and a stunning 13 saves to brag about. On the flip side, for Dynamo, we have an interesting duel between Jonathan Bond and Blake Gillingham, with ratings of 7.07 and 6.60 respectively, and total saves of 12.
Focusing on the top tier talent, for Sounders, the players to watch would definitely be Obed Vargas, Cristian Roldán and Nouhou Tolo with ratings ranging from 7.50 to 7.70, some goals and impressive accurate pass percentages. For Dynamo, Jack McGlynn and Amine Bassi, along with Ondrej Lingr seem to be running the show, with ratings above 7.20 and above 88% accurate pass rates - impressive to say the least.
Now peeping into the past, when these two teams faced each other, we've seen some nail-biting games. The last five games were pretty evenly balanced, with a lot of draws, and neither of the teams distinctly tipping the scale in their favor.
Looking at their regular season records delivers a pretty clear picture, though. Sounders with a 4-4-3 record, seem to have a slight edge over Dynamo, having a somewhat less impressive 2-4-5 record.
Throwing glance to their recent performances, Sounders seem to be on an upward stride with recent victories, including a 4-1 against Saint Louis City SC. Dynamo, however, had a bit of a tough road with a series of draws and losses.
Taking all this into account, I would recommend placing your chips on the Sounders. But then again, it's soccer, and anything can happen.
