Olimpia Milano by 3Gather around, sports fans! We've got an exciting EuroLeague matchup to discuss. We've got Olimpia Milano beating the path to Virtus Bologna's doorstep, and what a contest it's shaping up to be.
Let's start unpacking some of the heavy luggage these teams are hauling. On the Olimpia Milano side, we've got the tried and tested, Nikola Mirotic with his consistent superclass performance, he's surely feeling quite cozy this season with an average of 18.0 points per game indeed. Not to forget Zach LeDay, his rebound abilities are phenomenal, juggling an average of 4.5 rebounds per game, he's certainly not a three-ring circus, no sir.
Swinging over to Virtus Bologna, we have our man William Clyburn who's shown some zeal in the past month, popping an average of 13.0 points per game. There's also Tornike Shengelia, the 'point-scoring wizard' as I affectionately call him, who's been dishing out a season average of 15.6 points per game.
When it comes to past skirmishes these two have shared, well, Olimpia Milano has successfully nicked three out of their last three encounters. However, Virtus Bologna has found themselves in a bit of a puddle, coming up only 8 times victorious in their 24 regular season matches.
Recently, Olimpia hasn't been cutting many victory cakes either, with a rather grim-looking record of losses in their recent rendezvous. Virtus Bologna, while not faring better, has pegged an impressive score against Alba Berlin.
But, as we all know, Euroleague isn't a game of tag, it's a chess match, and positioning is key. Cue the drum roll, please. At present, Olimpia Milano struts the #12 position while Virtus Bologna seems to be a little less than charming at #17.
