Take a gander at this EuroLeague matchup, folks. We've got Bayern Munich heading over to the home turf of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Bayern Munich has been showcasing some impressive muscle this season with a W-L record standing proud at 19-13. Their secret sauce? Well, that could very well be their powerhouse lineup. We have Carsen Edwards, leading the charge with an average of 19.9 points per game this season. Not too shabby. Johannes Voigtmann has also been making some slick moves on the court, contributing an average 7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season. Nick Weiler-Babb, too, has been a metronome of consistency with his 8.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
But let's not get carried away here. Maccabi Tel Aviv, despite their 10-22 record, houses some pretty heavy hitters in their roster. Their ace, Levi Randolph, packs a punch with his 16.8 points per game last month. Roman Sorkin is not one to be messed with either. He's been serving an average 15.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in the past month out on the court. And then we have Trevion Williams, who completes their trio, scoring 12.3 points per game and rising the charts with 8.0 rebounds per game.
When it comes to head-to-head combat, it's been a seesaw battle with Bayern Munich pulling a slight edge. Their most recent duel saw Munich claiming the victory 98-93. But, as the saying goes, you're only as good as your last game.
Taking into consideration their recent games, Munich seems to be on a rollercoaster ride with a mix of wins and losses while Tel Aviv follows a close lead. A wildcard, to say the least. But if there's anything sports has taught me, it's that there's beauty in the unpredictable.
So, enough chit-chat. After spinning all those stats and numbers in the old noggin, here's my hot take on the outcome:
