Shanghai Sharks by 7Hold on to your basketball boots, we're heading to the far east for a revved up Chinese Basketball Association match between the Shenzhen Leopards and the Shanghai Sharks in the Shark's tank.
Shenzhen Leopards, currently placing 13th, might seem like underdogs with a score of 17-28. However, let's not disregard the firepower they have. Players like Sonny Weems, with 15.3 points per game last month, and Xining He, raking up a solid 20.8 points per game, have both been tearing up the court. Then there's Markell Johnson who’s been distributing the ball excellently with 9.6 assists per game.
On the other end, the Sharks sitting at a comfortable 10th position with a win record of 27-18, have their own arsenal of hoop snipers. One cannot overlook Tyler Harvey's blistering average of 24 points per game, coupled with Kenneth Lofton Jr, matching Harvey's average and adding 10 rebounds per game into the mix. Eric Bledsoe also needs a mention for his fantastic all-round performance with 11.5 assists and 13.5 points per game.
When it comes to past encounters, it's been relatively neck and neck with a slight edge to the Sharks. The latest head to head saw the Sharks snatch a 103-99 victory against the Leopards.
The Leopards are coming off a convincing win against the Jiangsu Dragons but have been showing mixed results in their recent games. The Sharks, on the other hand, suffered a narrow loss to the Xinjiang Flying Tigers, adding to their streak of hard-fought games.
All the signs point to a Sharks victory, maybe not a walk in the park, but they're likely to pull through. The Leopards are not to be underestimated though, they're capable of causing an upset every now and then. However, given the Sharks' home advantage and superior past encounters, it's hard to see beyond a Sharks triumph.
