Zhejiang Golden Bulls by 26
Ladies and gents, we have an interesting matchup between the Ningbo Rockets and the Zhejiang Golden Bulls on our hands, and let me just say, this one won't take a rocket scientist to predict.
Our lads at Ningbo Rockets seem to be struggling quite a bit in the regular season. Sporting a record of 10 wins and 35 losses, these underdogs are led by their top players: Ronald March and Munger Martion. Just last month, March dropped 17.3 points per game and grabbed 5.3 rebounds on average, while Martion was hard at work scoring 11 points and securing 9.5 rebounds per game. Somehow, both March and Martion also managed to achieve 'Infinity' in their stats this season, a mathematical phenomenon that I'm sure has astrophysicists scrambling.
On the other side of the court, we have the Zhejiang Golden Bulls who are clearly out-performing the Rockets with a 29-16 record. All eyes are on Damian Jones and Gabe York, the powerhouses of the team. Jones has been a monster on the court with 22 points and 11.5 rebounds per game last month. York, on the other hand, has been a force to be reckoned with too, securing 19.5 points per game and 8.5 assists.
Now, if we take a trip down memory lane, it doesn't bode well for the Rockets. Zhejiang won four out of the past five matchups against Ningbo, and the only time the Rockets held their own, they still fell short by five points. Guess it's true what they say, history does repeat itself.
Casting a glance over recent results, the Rockets are stuck in a losing streak. Couple this with their #17 position in the standings, and even an optimist would struggle to see a silver lining. Zhejiang, on the other hand, is sitting comfortably at #9. When it comes to top tier Chinese basketball, it looks like the Golden Bulls are stubbornly refusing to be anything but golden.
All pieced together, if the Rockets do manage to defy the odds and come up with a victory, well, I'll believe pigs can fly. I'm placing my bets on the Golden Bulls trampling all over the Rockets in this game.
