Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your hats, because this is about to get scrappy.
Looking at the Dragons, they've got Frank Jackson who, bless his heart, was a bit of a dim bulb last season with 12.5 points per game. But hey, everyone has bad days... or seasons. Now, he's pumping out 43 points per game recently, which, frankly, made me double-check my glasses prescription. Terquavion Smith? Stellar. He's been dishing 19 points a game, which isn't too shabby. As for Yongkang Ni, well, let's just say he's making some "steady improvements."
Now onto the Pioneers. A touch awkward, but we've got no recent stats for any of their players. I guess they're going for that 'mystery team' vibe. Building suspense, right?
Now the Dragons have had a real 'ruff' ride. Sitting down in the doldrums of the rankings at 19 while the Pioneers are breezing at 12, this is looking distressingly like the "Tortoise and the Hare" tale. And we've seen how that story ends.
The Pioneers hold a solid 5-6 season record compared to the Dragon's lamentable 0-11... which frankly, looks like someone’s grandma got hold of the controller in a video game. Gods help them.
Looking at the past face-offs, the Pioneers have been slaying Dragons consistently. There's more of a chance of my mother's ragout being edible than the Dragons turning the tides in their favor. Going off the past, my sports senses indicate a repetition of history is looming.
As for the recent scores, the Dragons lost to what seems like everyone who could dribble a basketball while the Pioneers had a mixed run.
Given this, here's my wager.
