Put on your seatbelts, folks--not because this is going to be a close one--it's more like bracing for impact. We've got the Ningbo Rockets travelling to face the mighty Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
The Rockets have been less than stellar, with a regular season record that would make fans cringe, skulking at 4 wins to 8 losses. Their position in the standing is predictably reflective of this, sitting sadly at 17. Of course, they have Jordan Howard, who's been shooting like a madman with 30 points per game just last month, and Nick Rakocevic, who's arguably overachieving with 22 points and 6 rebounds per game to his name. But even with Zhao Junfeng's recent lineup, it's not really the stuff dreams are made of.
The Flying Tigers, on the other hand, can certainly be accused of showing off their ferocious prowess on the court, holding a stellar 10-2 record this regular season. They are sitting pretty at 3rd position in the standings, striking fear into the hearts of their opponents, or at least, they should be. They come heavily strapped with QJ Peterson averaging 29 points per game, backed by Dedric Lawson's menacing 19 points and a disturbing 13 rebounds per game just last month. One might bet their bottom dollar that this trend of dominance would continue.
If we trundle down memory lane and look back at past matchups, we've got the Tigers gnashing the Rockets with victory after victory. So, unless the Rockets have a hidden rocket booster we don't know about, let's just say it's not looking promising for them.
Considering the above, in a move that will surprise absolutely no one, here's the crystal ball:
