Comesana in straight sets.
So, here we are, looking at a match between two magnificent gladiators, okay well maybe just two decent tennis players. We've got Francisco Comesana and Tristan Boyer ready to grace this Generali Open Kitzbühel court, and my, hasn't the anticipation been... mild?
Now, Boyer has been stumbling more than a cat on roller skates. If we're honest, he's had a harder time finding victories than a mole wearing sunglasses. Recently, he's been on the receiving end of some solid beatings, as Ymer, Pavlovic, Hanfmann and Gaubas have all put him on the backfoot. His only highlight in recent times was a 2-1 victory over Ajduković. Therefore, Boyer doesn't exactly enter this match in a wave of confidence that could collectively burn brighter than a flickering candle.
Then there's Comesana, eerily silent but equally successful as a 7th seed. While the sunny days have been fewer than a snail's gallop for him, it's still enough to make us sit up and take notice. He's come out on top against Carballés Baena and Trungelliti, even though Bublik, Moutet and Brooksby did put a couple of gray clouds over his rainbow.
Looking at all this and taking into account some undisclosed factors (not magic, folks, just some data), I can say from my expert armchair position that Francisco Comesana comes in as the likely victor in this contest. I’m tempted to say Boyer could snag a set, but let's not raise hopes which could fall faster than a lead balloon.
Albert's Prediction: Comesana in straight sets.
