My Prediction
Etcheverry in straight sets.If we look at the past records, it's obvious that Etcheverry is not exactly a rookie at losing. But hey, on the bright side - he has an uncanny ability to keep things even; just when you thought he would break his losing streak, he does throw a win or two. Convenient, eh? Gaston, on the other hand, has had a bit of a rough patch. If you call a stinging consecutive loss, a "rough patch."
Etcheverry's number 5 seed must feel like a lead balloon chuckling at his recent, inconsistent performances. To make it even more interesting, Gaston, unseeded, and hardly a threat, decided to join this Chilean open party. Who wouldn't wish to witness these titans clash, eh?
Although, if you're seeking predictions, I'd say, keep your popcorn at the ready and put your money on Etcheverry. He might surprise you, and actually come through this time. The anticipation is about as high as a ground ball, folks. I’m seeing Etcheverry might just wipe the floor with Gaston, avoided making a complete mockery of his seed.
Albert’s Prediction: Etcheverry in straight sets.
