Baez in 3 setsSo, we're looking at an intriguing match up for the Rio Open finals, my friends. Bun up, because things are about to get heated on the court between our numero cinco seed, Sebastian Baez and the wildcard, Alexandre Muller. And oh boy, hasn't Alexandre been a surprise?
Talkin' bout Muller, he's outshone those sparkly Vegas lights by winning four consecutive matches, and all with some style I'd say. Tossed Cerundolo in straight sets followed by chucking Etcheverry outta the window the very next day. But we can't just overlook those lemons in his past, can we? Djere did spoil his party not too long ago.
Now, Baez isn't playing love either folks. He's basking in all his seeded glory, with a fair share of victories, sure had to hustle a bit more for those wins though, relying on tiebreakers in two of his recent matches. No doubt, he's earned his favored status.
That being said, Muller, despite being unseeded, has demonstrated an uncanny ability to punch way above his weight! He's won some serious matches, mostly in straight sets even. But then again, if I'm allowed to be a tad poetic, we've got Baez who's earned his battle stripes and sailed through the tournament as the #5 seed.
So, my dear listeners, if you're looking for a sensible bet, it lies with Baez. Muller's Cinderella story is charming, but Baez has the proven experience. Sure, it ain't going to be a walk in the park, expect some slugfest here, but in the end, the class will surely prevail.
